My mother-in-law’s funeral was exceptionally well organized. She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity as she was laid to rest. As an existing Nirvana customer with prior purchases in both Malaysia and Singapore, I had hoped this experience would be as smooth as before. Unfortunately, my experience with their Kuala Lumpur sales agent and team in June 2026 was extremely disappointing, disrespectful and unprofessional. After a full day spent viewing and selecting a unit in good faith, and after signing a purchaser form with our payment details, we were later accused of wrongdoing over a matter that had, in fact, been initiated and consented to by the agent herself. Due to their own agent's negligence in failing to request the proper documents from the purchaser at the appropriate time to secure the sale, we were then placed under pressure at the last minute and blamed for a situation entirely of their own making. Rather than resolving this reasonably, we received threatening messages directed to my elderly family member over 70 years old, and the matter escalated in ways we did not expect from a company we had trusted for years. A police report was even made against my elderly family member and myself, with no clear explanation given as to the basis for doing so. Despite submitting comprehensive evidence with timestamps documenting what occurred, there has been no proper investigation and no apology from management to date. When I raised a formal complaint, I found the process difficult to navigate, with no named person taking ownership of the case, and a requirement to meet in person with the individuals involved, despite the seriousness of what had occurred. What made this even more unreasonable is that I work with a multinational corporation with offices across 60 cities globally, and was on an active work assignment in Netherlands at the time. Nirvana insisted that I, as the complainant and existing customer, cease my uncompleted work trip and fly back immediately, at my own time and expense, simply to attend an in-person meeting with the very agents responsible for this ordeal, failing which my complaint would not be investigated further. I do not believe any company should place this kind of burden on a genuine customer who has already suffered enough from the conduct of their own agents. Given this experience, I am no longer proceeding with my intended purchases and I would strongly encourage others in Singapore and Malaysia to think carefully before engaging with this company. I say this to highlight that the conduct of their agents and the handling of customer complaints needs serious review. We would like to say a Big Thank You to Jojo and Caralyn B268. Both of them done a great job for my late aunty funeral. Everyday, they dropped by to fold joss papers for my late aunty. That day, when we sent off our late aunty was raining heavily. Jojo carried an umbrella. Instead of sheltered herself, she held the umbrella to shelterd my 2 cousins. On that day, Jojo was totally drenched. Jojo is a senior director who will share all her knowlege internally or externally. I am writing this review to share my disappointing experience with agent Xiu Feng during my late father’s exhumation, cremation and niche arrangements. My father had been buried for 13 years and was exhumed in March last year. This was already a very emotional and difficult period for our family, so we expected the arrangements to be handled professionally and with sensitivity. The first issue arose when choosing the urn. We were told there were only two colour options, yellow and pink. My mother made a trip down to Nirvana to view the urn, only to be told that the other colour was at the agent’s house and that she would have to travel there to see it. I found this extremely unreasonable. After my mother had already travelled to Nirvana, I stopped her from making another unnecessary trip and told the agent to simply bring both urn colours on the day of my father’s appointment so we could decide then. On the appointment day, instead of focusing on helping the family, the agent complained that the urn was very heavy and that she had to carry it from her house to Nirvana. As customers, we did not feel it was appropriate to hear complaints about carrying an item that was part of the service she was providing. More disappointingly, when the religious ceremony began, we realised that a Taoist priest had been arranged instead of a Buddhist monk. My mother had clearly informed the agent beforehand that we are Buddhists and wanted Buddhist rites. When I questioned this, the agent simply brushed off my concern by saying, “It’s all the same.” It is not all the same. Different religions have different beliefs and practices, and our family’s wishes should have been respected instead of dismissed so casually during such an important farewell for my father. My mother chose not to pursue the matter afterwards, but I was deeply disappointed. It also made me worry that if my mother had relied on this agent for her own future arrangements, would our family’s religious wishes be overlooked again? Overall, what disappointed me most was not just one incident, but the combination of unnecessary inconvenience, unprofessional remarks, the dismissal of our family’s religious preferences, and the lack of care shown throughout the process. Families place immense trust in funeral agents during one of the most difficult times in their lives. We expect our wishes to be respected, communication to be clear, and service to be compassionate and professional. Unfortunately, this was not the experience my family had with Xiu Feng. I hope this feedback encourages improvements so that future families receive the level of service and respect they deserve.
